If I mention the date December 21st of the year 2012 and ask how you feel about it; you'd probably do some quick calculations, come up with what your age will be on that day and say something witty and dry about aging before your time...but you might miss something that could be important...ultimately important, as is becoming increasingly clear.
Before you stop reading this and start making a talking motion with your hand and saying "Yada, Yada, Yada..." - Take a few minutes to read the following facts about the date 12/21/2012.

Their calendar was (is) so accurate that it told the future...(Fact)...Predicting the exact time of such events as Solar and Lunar Eclipses, Dynamic changes in the heavens such as Super-Novae and Black Holes, Extended extreme weather forecasts far into their own future...And, are you ready?...

This is not a theory, it's not even an educated guess - That the most advanced calendar of all time ends in our very near future is a solid and confirmable fact.

I'll try and give you an instructional walkthrough that points out the major issues of this Singularity...
1. Some mathematicians have plotted the asymptotic graphs of all of humanity's technological developments and projected them out to a point where they all, almost simultaneously - Hit infinity...The day that they arrived at is 12/21/2012 - the one projected date of "The Singularity."
This day is when some say Everything as we know it will change. Drastically.
*Stick with me on this next one...it may take you a while to wrap your head around it...*
2. If we take a look at some of the Species-Altering events in our history, we can see three MAJOR developments that changed the entire course of Human History.
*The Agricultural Revolution, 30,000 years ago we learned how to farm.
*The Industrial Revolution, 350 years ago we learned how to mass-produce machines.
*The Information Revolution, About 50 years ago we learned how to build computers.
As you can see, the rate of change is increasing; as is our abilities afforded by the changes.
With computers, we have the ability to build more efficient things, fly planes and spaceships, educate more people, etc...Each of these enabling technologies will build further development, and at a faster rate...But to what point?
According to the mathematical model, we should see approximately 61 more of these Species-Altering developments before 12/21/2012 and all of the changes will have the same magnitude as the three noted above.
Again, it's only a model.
But, the mathematical model predicts that 18 of these changes will be on the last day prior to 12/21/2012, and that 13 of these changes are to happen in the last FRACTION OF A SECOND of 12/20/2012, as things accelerate towards that infinity point - The Singularity.

One of which is of course 12/21/2012.
In the Bible Code the 21st day of the 12 month of the year two-thousand-and-twelve is criss-crossed by the words "EARTH DESTROYED".

I predict a whole lot of people running up their credit cards on 12/20/2012.
Perhaps I missed something, but I didn't see these thoughts as predictions of the "END TIMES" but rather that there is yet another fulfillment of time that is to take place soon when we will enter the next age.
Christians are far too caught up in looking at the end times in a LEFT BEHIND (which is awful theology) kind of way.
I know that some of your stuff is pulled from Dan Brown, and while I might not agree with all his characters have to say, I do think we are emerging into the Age of Aquarius. The very fact that Blogs are becoming a way to disseminate information in a non-heirarchical manner is proof enough that we are entering a new age that is post-heirarchy, post-government, post-institution... or that's my guess.
Oh, I just saw that you called this entry "The End". My bad. Then I disagree with you about it being "The End" if that is what you are proposing.

come on people the "end" people have said that the world was going to "end" in the year 200 and look it was just a normal day wasnt it. i belive that it is just going to be a normal day. but mabye im wrong who knows the world can end but the sun has 1 billion more yers to go and im no math wiz but that is a long way away! only god knows when the world will "end" not some prople with a good calender!
The end? it doesn't end here. For many years we looked up to our sciencetist's and government to provide solutions and remedies to help mankind. We as a nation built up primarily of Europeans, negilected to recognize the intelligence and wisdom of non-christian people. We ignored them, banished them and spent our time "changing-converting" them to see things our way.
Science has created the mess that has harmed our beautiful sensitive Earth, for years we have dumped chemicals and nuclear wastes in our oceans and lands. Scientist's created this mess with there technology, but they never learned or cared to investigate the effects of there technology, our businesses only cared about the bottom line. Now as our sea/ocean levels rise, and the earth is heating up, the earth is a "living organism", it is trying to heal itself. We need to get our collective minds out of its trance, and the sleepers must awaken and place our focus and energies on saving the Earth or we will have no place to live after the Earth cools itself off by flooding the plains and the east and west coasts. Thanks for your post, it was both informative, easy to understand, and most importantly, entertaining!
If in fact the world is going end whether in a cataclysmic event or we enter in a new era there really is no point to worry since we have no control over it. What I recommend is for all of us to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. Hopefully it doesn't end up in a BANG!
you know, the bottom line is this. the universe moves by laws outside our little tiny world. we can run around and huff and puff and dream up self centered ideas. but really, what has been set in motion in the universe will in fact happen. just as sure as the sun gives light everyday, and we can set our clocks to it, so will the cycle of its 26,000 years come around. and when that alignment occurs on 12-21-2012 our feeble little thoughts will have nothing to do with the grand scheme of the universe. live your life like it is all over on that day, because it will be, like it or not, you and your thoughts do not matter, it has been in motion long before you started thinking or speaking. so , blah, blah , blah! i cant wait !
After reading this article and everyones comments I did some research of my own and to my amazement it was quite unsettling. there are roughly 22 different religions,predictions,codes and so on that say the world will either end or go through a drastic change on 12/21/2012. There has never been more than two end days prediction to fall on the same date before as far as I could find. This does not mean that I believe it but it certainly gives me a chill occasionally. this might be a good time to get right with the man regardless.
In addition to all the references to 2012 handed down through the ages look at how quickly our society seems to be disentegrating before our very eyes. The West is at war with Islam and lacks the resolve to fight for its survival, let alone aknowledge the extent of the threat. Economic power has moved to China, a true rogue nation that still rules at the point of a gun. Africa has become a cesspool of genocide and disease. Russia is in the hands of organized crime and former KGB agents. Children are the prey of molesters whose rights are not to be violated. Music is no longer about love but spews hate and despair into adolescent minds.The planet itself is warning us of major climatic changes to come. While all of this and more is happening we continue to tune in and be fascinated by the likes of Brittany, Paris, Anna Nicole and the latest reality show. Whether or not the world ends on 2012 remains to be seen. However, at this rate it's hard to imagine a future much beyond it.
The earth doesn't rotate around the Christian belief nothing in what I read said anything about god coming down if anything at all it points to his inevitable non emergence from the heavens. When and if it happens it will not be anything like we ever imagined because who is there to say that there wont be a dragon or even a dog to fly across the sky and blow up the world. No one knows I am tired of hearing people talk about this like they saw it in a dream.
Now the Mayan calender isn't the only important historical document that points to this specific date. The Chinese have a document written in the 600's ,if i am correct, that also plots the end of the world. The date it ends on...December 12, 2012. It is called the "I ching" ( I am not to sure about the spelling on that) also it is said Merlyin also wrote a book about it when he was alive he was a shaman or a dark wizard and he wrote a book about it in this book it also have dates that all mathematical fit in a line graph with important dates in history.
On 12/21/12 the poles of the earth will shift...fact that will cause unbelievably terrible weather. Also there is a black hole some where in are galaxy continuing to grow.
Those are all facts and there is nothing we can do about them and one girl said something about living life to the fullest and that is what I plan on doing.
I just had a couple quick comments... the year 2000 is the center of the time of the apocolypse, the period of transition between the age of pisces and aquarius, cant you feel the anxiousness of the human race, cant you hear the insane thoughts pumping through their minds, we are becoming one, embrace the change with an open heart, do not fight or you will be left behind, alone and doomed to exist on this plain for another 26000 years. To me this is just another 6/6/06. Nobody can predict the end of time. Live life to it's fullest, don't worry, and keep on moving. If the world does end then there's nothing mankind can do about it.

Suppose that our solar system is where it is now 52000 years ago on a plan going down through the galatic Milky Way spiral(starting of the Ice Age). And 26000 years later going up through the spiral of the Milky Way(end of ice age)... Because now were talking about global warming and temp chances now... Could be starting of a new ice age again Where decending downward again through the spiral. And Biblical data (years) could be off by 12 years also with word of mouth and dates back then... Keep in mind, that 12/21/12 will be about a month after the USA presidential election. Let's hope Jeb Bush doesn't run for president. Then everyone will be p.o.'d. We need Gore to run. or, someone that is worried about global warming like Gore. It has been 65 million years since a global catastrophe..much to say earth is over due..our solar system is going into a period where our galaxy will pass the center line of gravity in the center of the milky way..as a resuly the earth, the sun, and jupitor will all align with the center. Its cauldra (area containing magma) is astonishing at 40-50 kilometers in length and 20 kilometers wide. Its magma is not connected to the mantle, but its own pocket. this reason being there are large pockets or uranium surrounding it. As the earth increses in temperature, the uranium melt heats up it melts more magma, and increses the pressure greatly until it blows. Not to mention it is an 8 on a volcanic scale of 1-8, mt. St. Helens only being a 5.

Get a life people. Dan Brown is an entrepreneur who only believes the more people he fools the more money he makes. Go to college and get an education. Take some biology classes and wake up. They say there's a sucker born every minute. It seems they all flock to b.s. like this at a much higher rate than one per minute.
I just like to leave you with a couple of thoughts: does anyone realize that these reports, documentaries or possible scenarios shown on TV only focus on the so called "End of the World"?
Isn't it quite obvious that someone is pulling strings to occupy the public audience with Doomsday "information" only to the effect to side-track from the real problems?
Meteors, Asteroids, Black Holes, loss of the Sun's power or the here discussed planetary alignment; all of these things are still under scientific observation and development. We just have started to understand a fraction of the Universe and we are still quantum leaps away from "Warp drive" or really exploring space.
It is also somewhat irritating that we never see scientists or real confronting topic discussions on History Channel.
Smart people (usually) do not put their reputation on the line unless they have 110% data backing up their findings.
So hats off to our ancient ancestors and their discoveries like the Mayan Calendar - but who says that we have already encrypted it completely? It took us hundreds of Years just to figure its basics, well, and the interpretation lies in the eye of the beholder.
Look at the faqs. They are there many many important things happen on that day or even two days after as some scholars have presented.
Not in all mankind’s history has one day been so important. All the other predictions for the end of the world were false lies with theorems of technology failing or comet’s coming to close or odd off beat date like 666 or 777.

there is some more info you can find on the end of times in other religions. they say thay are separate from one another but the more Bibles and Korans that i read the more i think to myself that i am reading the same story. are population keeps growing but are food supply's don't. The sun can explode or die at any given point... Not even the smartest scientists know exactly how the sun was created, or how long it has existed, or when it will die. Everything is based on theory, not facts.

Not everything is obvious--the world has suffered many events of destruction. Man still lives. There will be some interesting cosmic events going on on 12/21. My prediction--Due to cosmic stresses on the sun created by all alignments, a solar flare will hit Europe. The EMF created will cause the containment in the power plant on the Thames river to fail causing massive deaths. (20,000)..worst case scenario.. it could also mean 3 shopping days until Christmas. The Mayan calendar is not a prediction. Remember, december 31 happens every year usually uneventful. It is most likely that we will see something similar to moon phases except this cycle only happens once every 25000 years. Remember Y2K was man made not cosmic--no comparison.

I believe personally that 21/12/2012 (and that's the logical way to write a date - dd/mm/yy - smaller units first. do you write time as HH:SS:MM or in any other order? or your address as Steet Name, House No, City ? NO. it's always an orderly progression, either from the small to large or vice-versa as suits the need. so WAKE UP you stupidly contorted Americans) is going to be another normal day.
However all my "senses" ( the normal 5, and the paranormal 6th, 7th and so forth [ and some of these have shown pretty accurate results in the past for me]) tell me that it's going to be the end of the-world-as-we-know-it-now).

I have read about this a lot and there is actually scientific evidence that this could be the next mass extinction. It all starts out with us not actually being in the Milky Way, we are actually in a dwarf galaxy passing through the milky way. 12 21 2012 is the day we will finish passing through the Milky Way, it is also the day Jupiter and Saturn will be on exact opposite sides of the sun. All of these things will cause great stress to be exerted on the sun causing a major increase in solar flares. Passing through the milky way will reverse the poles which will cause another ice age and the solar flares will be so abundant and strong that they will fry all of are electronics. With nothing to keep us warm and another ice age upon us not many will survive.

I think it is a good thing that the scientists and theory givers are so wrapped up in this date because it will help people to see that the earth is dying and we aren't doing anything to help it. Many of the occupants of the Yucatan Peninsula are, in fact, 100% pure blooded Mayans. They even STILL practice their religion in groups, particularly meeting once a year at Tulum (or Zamma as they call it) to celebrate the coming of the summer solstice. They are FAR from extinct.

No one really knows WHY the calender ends. Maybe they just didn't get around to finishing the calender (the whole conquistador thing, maybe) or they could of decided that the world was going on forever, and that was the day that they stopped doing the calender on. No one really knows.
It still gives me a little bit of the shivers, though. I'm thirteen at present, and IF the world does end, I won't have even graduated High School yet. I want to be a vet, and I would never get the chance.
I'm not saying I truly believe in this, but, who knows.

The Bible code has actually been proven wrong, I remember I watched a show on it and it predicted that there would be a nuclear war by now (I can't remember what year it said but it was around 2004)... which hasn't happened. Plus I doubt any sort of god gives a flying f' about us (that is if one did exist).

Ok, this is actually pretty scarry. It was also said on the history channel that Nostradamus(?) predicted 9-11. But ofcourse, people were too busy think that everything having to do with the present is made up. If you consider midtribulationism it will be 3.5 years of his 'church' getting ready.Then the 'church' will be removed in spirit form before the Great Tribulation.

The Earth wobbles on its axis and will complete a full cycle. The universe also lines up with the centre of the Milky Way every 13,000 years or so. So we complete one earth axis wobble as well as our sun lines up with the centre. The Myans believed there are 13 days and 13 nights in a full cycle. We make one full pass as we wobble away (decend into night) and make another as we wobble forward. So its like an astrological high noon or summer solstice. 26000 years ago we replaced the Neanderthals (the last summer) and then the ice age ended 13000 years ago (the last winter) a cataclismic event by the way as all those glaciers melted and drowned many parts of the world (Flood myth, Atlantis etc.)
As for the bible and Jesus you have to remember that they are just extensions of the ruling class that emerged. I am far from smart, but what I do know is that all significant things are hidded or a mystery. All that we have known or learn from any Christianity to anything has it's hidden property's or left out or added too by someone of significanse. Because it has been left out, gets me to question the things that I do not see, rather than the things I see or taught for our minds are of unlimited imaginations, infinite and a finite mind gets closed. Society likes to keep mankind in a Pandora's Box to control them in Government, home, Church and State and we are evolving around seeing the mess the Earth and all is into, knowing that something is coming to a climax, for we are all breaking out in some form or another knowing that this is not the way it is suppose to be for some time now.
Whether we like it or not the Universe is getting ready and so is the Earth and all other Natural and Universal Laws.
It will be a very interesting day in all ages to witness and I am looking forward to it, good or bad as we are the one's to make history as any fool would see that soon something has to change to bring peace again and harmony and mankind isn't doing it, but mankind is very important in this process in the future in mankinds time.
We can not be so arrogant to believe that we are alone on this spaceship called Earth and that there is nothing else out there. But each to their own but I choose to remaine open minded but I do not know if anyone else has noticed it or not, but it is like the Earth is watching us and the Universe, tho that sounds crazy and insane, it is alive.
God created all things in my opinion, and we are not his toys, he will take care of us no matter what, for all of this was in his plan. Tho the Bible states that we do not know the hour, it also has many things left out, perhaps to evolve our minds for God is a mystery and in order to know him, you have to go beyond words, facts, logic, fear and into the unknown and to believe that we are to search beyond it all.
The Mayans were incredibly intelligent, they gave us keys to survive what is too come for a reason. It stopped for a reason, Time. And if I am not wrong, then in the Garden of Eden, there was no such thing as time until sin entered in, so when the Universe aligns it will be like a division and so to me like Time for sin to enter out.
